Submission of Papers for Scientific Review

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts in MS Word format to the editor in chief, Bo Sundgren. If authors are unsure about the suitability of their manuscripts for the IJPIS, authors are welcome to discuss their papers with any of the members of the editorial board prior to a formal submission.

Once a paper is submitted, one of the members of the editorial board will be assigned by the chief editor to act as the editor of the manuscript. The editor will seek advice from reviewers who are competent to judge the scientific quality of the manuscript. Each reviewer will provide a recommendation to the editor concerning the manuscript’s suitability for being published by the IJPIS. The reviewers will also provide substantive feedback to authors to assist them in improving their work.

After the review, the assigned editor and the chief editor will arrive at a decision whether to publish the manuscript or not, or under which conditions the manuscript may later be published.

Submission of other Contributions

The main purpose of the International Journal of Public Information Systems is to publish scientifically reviewed papers of good quality. However, the journal is also open for other contributions like informative articles about interesting, on-going activities in the area of public information systems, e.g. practical implementation projects. Such articles will be placed in a separate section in order not to be confused with the reviewed articles. The journal will also be open for book reviews, debates, and other contributions of general interest for people engaged in public information systems.
